Residents Memories of the White Pine County, Nevada Hospitals
"I remember being in the old Steptoe Valley Hospital when I was very young, so it must have been about 1946/1947. There was a skelton in the x-ray room who was called "Mr Bones". Does anyone else remember? Dr Ririe was our family doctor in Ruth and I very well remember his coming to see me or my sister when were sick at our house many times. We had a small clinic at Ruth and in my mind I still connect it with the old "Dr Christian" radio show of the 40's and 50's." Bill Sorenson 1999
"If your dad worked for KCC you went to Steptoe Valley Hospital, and if not you went to the County Hospital that is now the Courthouse Annex. I remember Dr. Jones having a clinic here in Ruth when I was a kid on the corner of Keystone and Main Street. I also remember KCC would line us up like cattle to get our shots in the building that is now Mackay School Building. They did by name it was murder on the kids if your name was one of the last on the list." Mary Sorenson 1999
