Schellbourne, Nevada Pictures

taken by Jerry Bowen

Exterior and interior photos of the old Schellbourne, Nevada Stage Stop all taken by Jerry Bowen several years before it was bulldozed to the ground in 1999.

A sod-roof building at Schellbourne, NV. Bowen photo.

The jumble of timbers at the top is the old stamp mill that was on the other side of a small draw north of the Wells Fargo building.

In middle is the remains of an old wagon.

.On the bottom is the Wells Fargo building.

At the top is a small log building that was in the corral south of the new house. The building below it is west of the Wells Fargo building. I was told a story by the past owner that the building was used as a refuge during Indian attacks. I don’t know if it is true or not since I haven’t seen any corroborating evidence. The bottom photo is a side view looking west of the Wells Fargo building The top photo, again, I was told this without any proof, used to be a blacksmith shop. It was located some distance to the north of the old stage station in the bottom photo in this series.

The middle photo is the remains of another wagon we found on the property.
