He was of Lane City (Mineral City), NV and best remembered for discovering the first placer gold ore at Osceola, NV in 1877, which triggered the area's gold rush. He owned an Osceola mine with Ward store owners, J. C. Poujade and W. B. Garaghan when Charles Keisel (or Darling?), an employee, found the largest gold nugget ever found in NV, but destroyed it ca 1877. Garaghan became a NV State Legislator by the 1880's and ran for White Pine County Treasurer in 1888. White Pine Lang Syne by Effie O. Lloyd was owner of Andy's TV Service at Ely Furniture.
