Effie Warner |
Became Mrs. Thomas Dyrsdale in Nov 1904. Thomas/Effie moved to East Ely about 1906. Alfred was a RR engineer there, and we assume Thomas was a musician. Thomas/Effie had daughter Elizabeth in December 1906. Effie died a young woman in East Ely on November 3, 1908 from a blood clot on her brain (obituary in Ely Mining Record 11/7/08). Drysdale, |
James F. |
James Francis Drysdale was the son of Thomas and Martha Drysdale of New Albany, IN. He was born 12/19/1830 (or 1835) in New Albany, and he grew up on the farm his parents established about 1831 after they immigrated to the U.S. James became an engineer on the Monon RR in Indiana, and lived most of his working life in Bloomington, probably hauling freight and produce between New Albany, Indianapolis, and Chicago. On 10/30/1865, he married Katurah Spencer who was
b. January 1845 and raised in Bloomington. They had 5 children:
Charles A., b.1866, Joseph H., b.1868, Effie M., b.1869, Alfred T.,
b.1876, and Thomas T., Sr., b.1880. After retiring from the
Monon about 1895, he and Katurah moved to Kansas City, MO until about
1908. They lived there with sons Charles and Joseph, who both
later moved to Denver, CO. Alfred was a RR engineer there, and we assume
Thomas was a musician. Effie's death may have prompted James F.
and Katurah to leave Kansas City since they came to East Ely in 1908.
Elizabeth died in Salt Lake City as a young child in July 1910,
and she's buried there. Alfred/Mable divorced in May 1910, and
she moved back to Durango where she remarried. Thomas eventually
moved back to Durango in 1910, then to Alamosa, CO about 1918, where
he married Oneta Walton (our grandmother) in 1920. |

Dunlap, |
Samuel Bigalow |
born Dec 11, 1853 in Homer, Licking, OH. Age 67, cerebral hemorrhage, male, died McGill, buried 11/01/1920. He married Helen Alma Williams May 23, 1878 in Homer. They had six sons (Charles S. Dunlap 1879-1931, Albert (Bert) Dunlap 1881-1918, Harry B. Dunlap 1884-?, Cyrus W. Dunlap 1890-1908 (Cyrus died in Encampment, WY), Paul Edwin Dunlap 1891-1960, Ralph Dewey Dunlap 1897-1966 and Claude Milton Dunlap 1905-1967) and a daughter, Mary Lucy (she went by Mamie). From Homer OH the family moved to Lyons County, and Crawford County IA. Then to Grand Encampment, Carbon County, WY where Mamie married Leon T. Lynn. Mamie and Leon moved to McGill, White Pine County NV. The 1910 Census lists Leon and Mamie and their children Marguerite and Keith. Leon was a machinist at the stamp mill. The Dunlap family was in McGill in October of 1912. Mamie and Leon Lynn had moved on to Virginia City, NV by this time and I have a postcard she wrote to her husband from McGill as she was caring for her Mother Helen Dunlap who was seriously ill. Samuel B. Dunlap and his older sons were miners in McGill. Source: Lylas Lynn Munn munnhouse@email.msn.com |
