January 20, 1910 Mike Dukovich 23 or 24 Murdered In McGill, NV by being stabbed by Andrew Klaich with a knife. He was a native of Ribnik, Austria and resided in McGill, NV.
February 10, 1910 Alex Riskar (Biskar?) 21 or 22 Mine train accident Near Copper Flat by being caught under the bed of an ore dump car. He and a brother resided in Copper Flat, NV.
February 11, 1910 Gust Tony 26 Mine train accident Near Copper Flat when run over by a car in the steam shovel pit. Resided Copper Flat, NV, native of Teninos Island, Turkey. Accident was caused by his own negligence.
February 16, 1910 Unknown man ca 60 - 65 Unknown Found dead from unknown cause in tunnel of Ely Northern Mining Company about 200' west of the lime kiln in Robinson Canyon.
March 4, 1910 Richard Ryan 31 Mine train accident Died March 3, 1910 near Ruth when he fell in front of a train and was run over by four dump cars and engine. He lived in Ruth, NV, was a native of Omaha, Nebraska, and his mother lived in Salt Lake City, UT. Body shipped to SLC, UT. Train belonged to Nevada Consolidated Copper Company.
March 7, 1910 E. Edgar Poe ca 33 Mine train accident Died March 5, 1910 while enroute to Ely, NV on a NNRR train in Elko County, NV from injuries received by being dragged under a rail road car at Shafter, NV, a town located above Wendover, NV. He was a native of Kokomo, Indiana and lived in East Ely, NV.
April 4, 1910 Charles Farlinger (Tarlinger ?) 33 Suicide Near Star Pointer Mine, he killed himself by shooting himself with a 38 Smith & Wesson pistol. His body was found in the road. He was born in America, left a mother, three sisters and three brothers. Some witnesses were: Kitty White, Mrs. Ernest Stein Tulley, Irene Morris, and Pete Smilinack.
May 25, 1910 Gust Richar 42 or 43 Mine shaft accident Near McGill, NV by falling into an ore shaft. He left a wife and two children in Luka (Zuka ?), Greece. Ore shaft belonged to the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company.
June 12, 1910 D. Z. Radwall (Badwall?) 37 Heart Failure Died of heart failure in the lodging house of the American Trading Company at McGill, NV. Of McGill, NV, he was a native of UT. Nearest relative is Sam Radwall in Pleasant Grove, UT.
July 11, 1910 Tino Ziguri ca 36 Murdered Shot and killed by G. Pastorini at the Gilliland Ranch. Native of Italy. Witnesses were: Frank and Mary Pistone and Miss Pistone. Buried in Ely, NV by county.
August 21, 1910 G. Pavlos ca 20 Mine train accident Near quarters of the section gang at Lane City, NV from jumping off mine train while it was in motion. Native of Greece, resided at Lane City, NV and had an uncle living at Ruth, NV.
September 18, 1910 Ben Klink 28 Murdered Shot and Killed near Ruth, NV by G. B. Nelson. Lived at Ruth, NV, he was from CA and his nearest relative was Geo. H. Klink, 2405 McKinley Ave., Berkley, CA.
September 20, 1910 John Champolean ca 34 Murdered Shot and Killed at Gilford Meadows on Duck Creek by S. T. King. Native of France, he lived at Duck Creek, NV. His body was brought to McGill, NV for inquest.
September 24, 1910 Sam Sheridan ca 65 Overdose Died ca Sep. 20, 1910. Found dead in his cabin on Murry Street, Ely, NV, Sep. 24, 1910 of a possible overdose of laudanum. Native of England. Friend of J. W. Blackwood of Ely, NV.
September 24, 1910 Tom Dometin (Dometice ?) ca 17 Mine train accident Near Riepetown, NV station by a runaway push car overtaking and striking him with the rear end of passenger train # 45 of NNRR. Resided Lane City, NV, of Greece. Related to Sam Dometic of Ruth, NV. Buried Ely, NV.
October 27, 1910 Frank G. Jennings 29 y 9 mos. Concentrator accident Died at the McGill concentrator when a rod unhooked from the concentrator and fell, struck him on the head, knocked him off the rolls, causing him to fall and strike his head against a pulley on another set of rolls, fracturing his skull, causing death. He was a native of Illinois, resided at McGill, NV, had a wife and brother at McGill and his mother and two sisters lived in Salt Lake City, UT. McGill concentrator belonging to the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company. Company was found negligent by not providing proper appliance of safety of employee.
November 11, 1910 Tom Morgan 56 Shot and Killed He was an Indian, native of CA., who resided at Basset Canyon in WP Co. Morgan was shot and killed in self defense in Pleasant Valley by Maitland Dun about 4 p.m. on Nov. 8, 1910. Morgan's property consisted of: Horse $35.00, Bridle $2.75, Saddle $2.50, one 30-30 rifle, cartridge belt and cartridges.
December 27, 1910 George Dana Merrill 40 Heart Failure Died Dec. 26, 1910 near Cherry Creek, NV of heart failure and his body was brought into Ely by a NNRR freight train. He lived in East Ely, NV and his nearest relative was Gladys B. Merrill living in Galveston, TX.
January 11, 1911 Nick Chrestu 35 - 40 Mine cave-in accident Resided Copper Flat, native of Vaceleko, Greece, left wife and children in Greece. Died near pit of NV Copper Mining Company by a slide of rock from top of bank caused by a blast set off in vicinity of steam shovel # 5. Jury determined that he was negligent and caused his own death while answering a call of nature.
March 11, 1911 Thomas E. Stowell 40 Burned to death Resided in McGill, NV. Died at 7:30 p.m. in the Matthews and Barnes Boarding House by lighting a match which set his clothes on fire while he was under the influence of liquor. His mother and sister, Cora, lived in Minoura Valley, IA.
April 15, 1911 Robert Lee 26 Heart Failure Resided Ely, NV, died in the office of Ed Millard and Son of heart Failure. Parents and brother lived in Denver, Colorado.
April 24, 1911 George W. Wattles 51 Suicide Resided in Riepetown, NV, native of Illinois, married, died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
May 17, 1911 Frank Leo 39 Natural Causes Died suddenly at Ole Hansen Ranch of natural causes. Resided Lane City, NV. Native of Sweden, brother Eric Leo lived in McGill, NV.
May 23, 1911 Sava Zenich 20 y 6 mos. Mine train accident Resided Copper Flat, NV, native of Dreznica, Austria, died while trying to board a moving dirt train and fell under the wheels of the train near steam shovel # 7 in the Eureka pit.
June 8, 1911 Athanasias Soterpulos 36 Mine train accident Resided McGill, NV with his wife and child, a native of Greece, died from his own carelessness at Glenn Siding near McGill, NV 17 miles north of Ely, NV on main line of NNRR Co. while riding on dump car # 336 which accidentally tipped over while in motion and being unloaded.  Employed by the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company.
June 23, 1911 Frank J. Morley 28 Murdered Lived in McGill, NV, native of Nashville, TN, died at McGill, NV by a gunshot wound at the hands of his brother, Timothy Morley. Jury questioned the sanity of Timothy Morley. The brother's mother, Mrs. J. M. McCormick lived in Nashville, TN.
August 6, 1911 Juw Hon ca 90 Natural Causes Native of China, died in his Ely, NV Chinatown cabin of old age.
August 24, 1911 Timothy Gilmore   Mine Fire Killed in the Giroux Shaft of the Giroux Consolidated Mine Company of Kimberly, NV from a fire at the 1200 level. The inquest jury verdict was placed on file with the county clerk. Unknown what the verdict said as it was not written in this book. 7 men killed.

The inquest jury verdict was placed on file with the county clerk. Unknown what the verdict said as it was not written in this book. 7 men killed.
August 24, 1911 John McNulty   Mine Fire Killed in the Giroux Shaft of the Giroux Consolidated Mine Company of Kimberly, NV from a fire at the 1200 level. The inquest jury verdict was placed on file with the county clerk. Unknown what the verdict said as it was not written in this book. McNulty's body was not recovered until February 12, 1912. He either suffocated or was squeezed to death between the shaft and cage. Giroux Consolidated Mine Company was found to blame for the deaths of him and six others. 7 men killed.
September 28, 1911 George Kuvolis (Kuralis ?) 28 Mine powder accident Resided Copper Flat, NV, native of Dervena (Verbena ?), Greece. Killed in explosion of giant powder at Copper Flat while a dobie shot. Origin of explosion unknown.
October 29, 1911 Jim Orphans 22 Mine powder accident Resided Ruth, NV, native of Megara, Greece, died at Copper Flat by an explosion of dynamite caused by his own carelessness.
December 9, 1911 Jenny Fitzgerald   Natural Causes? Died at Mrs. Smith's Hospital from natural causes but had been recently severely assaulted and battered by Harry Heher. The jury recommended that Heher be prosecuted for the beating.
January 3, 1912 Rocko Maffeo   Mine train accident Died at Steptoe Hospital from injuries caused by his own carelessness while trying to close a door on a open ore car at Copper Flat.
January 9, 1912 N. R. Bauer   Mine powder accident Found dead in tunnel about one mile south of Ruth, NV caused by an accidental explosion.
January 29, 1912 Mrs. Leslie Copeland AKA Clara Dean   Asthma Died suddenly of asthma in her bedroom at the house known as the "Mint" in Riepetown, NV. Witnesses: Margaret DeWitt, Mike Harrington, and Elyda Murum Steen.
February 9, 1912 John D. Herin   Murdered Died of a gunshot wound by an unknown party inflicted at Kimberly, NV on Feb. 5, 1912 at the Steptoe Hospital in East Ely, NV.
February 22, 1912 Giuseppi Carlo Padate   Mine powder accident Died at Copper Flat by being struck on head by flying rock from a blast.
March 25, 1912 Tony Butherick (Butkerich ?)   Mine powder accident Died March 24, 1912 at the Steptoe Hospital at about 6 a.m. from injuries received at Nevada Consolidated Copper Company's Copper Flat mine from falling rock coming from a blast about 313 feet from above caused by his own negligence.
April 14, 1912 Mrs. Jan Ryan   Suicide Died of her own volition from drinking carbolic acid caused by protracted intoxication.
April 16, 1912 Nick Halfter   Converter accident Died at the McGill, NV converter building of the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company by being burned to death by hot slag from the converter by his own negligence. Native of Megara, Greece.
May 16, 1912 Bonifacio Egosque ca 25 Murdered Basco man, weight 160 lbs., dark complexion, bullet wound on abdomen 2" left of his navel. Shot and killed by Roy Tibbs near the Ellison Ranch in the Preston district. Body was found lying on its left side on ground 40' northwest of his camp wagon about 5 miles from the Ellison Ranch.
May 24, 1912 John Van Sweden   Drowning Struck by falling timbers at the fire in N. H. Wade's Clothing Store, knocked unconscious and he fell face down in several inches of water.
June 12, 1912 George Haviland   RR accident Conductor for NNRR caught in wreck of cars that derailed while trying to make a flying switch in the NNRR Co. freight yards.
July 7, 1912 Haley Cook   Mine powder accident Explosion of powder at Copper Flat. Remains recovered as far as possible. 10 men killed.
July 7, 1912 Anton Rajkovic   Mine powder accident Explosion of powder at Copper Flat. Remains recovered as far as possible. 10 men killed.

September 12, 1912 Mark W. Crocker   Concentrator accident Killed when clothing caught onto a moving line shaft at McGill Concentrator.
October 3, 1912 Mijajlo Monoylovich   Murdered Shot and killed by Miliche Orlovich.
October 17, 1912 Nickola Papajiannakis (Nick Papas)   Murdered Shot and killed by unknown strike breakers during strike at McGill, NV. Jury found the 2 deaths to be unnecessary and recommended a thorough investigation by a grand jury.

December 29, 1912 Newborn Infant   Murdered An infant whose body was found on the NNRR north of Lake Lakenian, brought into McGill. The newborn baby died of violence, inflicted by parties unknown.
February 6, 1913 Louis Panutros   Mine train accident Fell beneath an ore train on the trestle of the McGill concentrator and he was run over by the wheels of the train.
February 28, 1913 Israel March   Suicide Shot self in his tent about 2 1/2 miles south of the plant of Ely Ice Mfg. Co. and buried by the county.
February 28, 1913 Joe Mesich   Mine cave-in accident Died at the Steptoe Hospital of injuries received on Feb. 25, 1913 from a cave-in of falling rock at the Veteran Mine.
March 25, 1913 William E. LaPoint   Mine train accident Run over by a ore train at Copper Flat due to own carelessness.

June 7, 1913 Tom (Temos) Athananian   Mine cave-in accident Killed in the fall of the roof of the stope where he was working in the Morris shaft of the Giroux Mine. Jury recommended that only men who can speak and understand the English language be employed underground.

August 24, 1913 Barney Boino   Mine train accident He operated a saloon at Riepetown, NV. His body was found on the main line track near entrance switch to the Liberty Pit at Copper Flats. He may have been struck by a Nevada Consolidated ore train.
September 20, 1913 Thomas Bernard Carroll   Shooting Accident Killed by an accidental discharge of his shotgun while in a boat hunting ducks at Comins Lake.
October 11, 1913 Earl A. Wall   Mine train accident Crushed to death between two ore trains at Copper Flats.
October 20, 1913 Alma A. Ellis   Burned to death Burned to death  by a disconnection of a hose coupling at the new stack at the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company in McGill, NV.   
October 20, 1913 Christ Nickolopulas   Burned to death Burned to death  by a disconnection of a hose coupling at the new stack at the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company in McGill, NV.   
November 29, 1913 Nally Terrill   Mine train accident Died in the Steptoe Hospital from injuries received at Copper Flat when he was crushed by a waste car in process of dumping.
December 15, 1913 Joseph B. Jensen   Converter accident Fell off the Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company converter building at McGill.
December 16, 1913 Moizas Mozopoulas   Suicide Died as the result of a self inflicted gunshot wound on Dec. 14, 1913 that occurred some distance from East Ely, NV. The gun used was a 32 caliber Savage automatic pistol.
January 3, 1914 Gust Bourekas   Mine train accident Crushed at Copper Flat between door and body of ore car on Dec. 29, 1913.
March 11, 1914 Andrew Jellepis   Concentrator accident Death caused by his own carelessness at the concentrator at the McGill Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company

March 18, 1914 John Keenan   Suicide Committed suicide by stabbing himself in the neck with a knife while temporarily insane. Resided in McGill, NV with his wife, Nora.
April 7, 1914 Theodoros Doufexis   Concentrator accident Death caused by his rocks falling on him from the ore chute in the concentrator at the McGill Steptoe Valley Mining and Smelter Company
May 18, 1914 Anka Drakulic   Mine cave-in accident She came to her death from injuries caused by falling mine timbers (ties).
June 18, 1914 Marko Dasakis   Murdered Shot and killed by Gust Demotropoulos at Marie Curtis' place in Riepetown, NV on June 14, 1914 between 12 and 1 a.m.
July 30, 1914 Franasia Martines   Mine train accident Died of injuries received in Copper Flat on an ore train while trying to board the moving train and crushed under the wheels of the second car in the train.
